The Glass Jar
by: again, my special friend. haha.
The robbers were really looking well prepared and had sacks, and one black suit case.
“Ahhh!!” People were screaming in the bus.
“Help!” Mariel shouted.
The robbers were getting Mariel’s small black suit case, got other people’s purses and went outside the bus with an evil laugh. Mariel cried and kneeled on the floor, with the people looking at her and the other robbers retreating.
“If I saw her getting money from this suitcase, then surely she has more inside!” the other robber shouted.
The other robbers just ran with him but they tripped.
“Give the young lady back her suitcase!” a young man yelled at them.
The police came and it was too late for the robbers to escape. The young man got the suitcase and went back to the bus.
“Excuse me, this is yours, right?” he asked her.
“My suit case! Thank you very much!” she shouted with glee.
“Here, my name’s JR, nice to meet you,” he replied.
“And my name’s Mariel, pleased to see you, thank you very much!!” she answered.
She got up and went back to her seat.
“Oh wait, won’t you join me? Even just for a little lunch?” he asked her.
“Oh no, please, I have to go home,” she replied.
“Is this the gratitude I get after saving someone’s bag?” he jokingly asked with a smile.
He grabbed her and stepped out of the bus.
“What are you doing to me? Even though you helped me, you can’t just like talk to me in front of a crowd like that and take me to lunch like we’ve met before!” she told him.
Her cheeks were turning red and JR saw her smiling a little.
“Hey, are you okay? You seem…red,” he asked.
“Me? Oh no…this is...I’m just…” she stammered.
“Just blushing?” he laughed.
“Of course not!” she smiled
“Oh come on, I’m sure you’re hungry…just one meal!” he told her.
She was grabbed again but he took her to a restaurant near the beach.
“Wow, the view’s…so beautiful…” she said in awe.
“Come on, let’s go order so we could eat,” JR said.
They ate in the restaurant. She thanked him for the meal, then called her mom in the cell phone and was about to be picked up in the restaurant. Her mom came soon.
“And why are you late?” her mom stepped out of the car.
“I’ll explain everything later,” Mariel said.
“Who’s that guy waving at you?” her mother asked again.
“Oh, he’s… my classmate? Oh fine, he’s a person I met,” she said quietly.
“A person you met...when??” her mother asked.
She explained everything and her mom was angry but at the same time happy because she got her things back.
She interviewed JR about what happened and how he helped Mariel.
Mariel felt very embarrassed.
The next morning came, and Mariel’s mom called her to announce some great news.
“Mariel, since you’re finding new job opportunities, JR has an available spot for you, he’s the manager of the bank near by our home town!” she said.
“What the?! With him? I’d love to but there are other more important jobs than working in a bank,” she complained.
Her mother forced her to come and she had no other choice, they were only a poor family.
After a week, she was accepted and got the job. She started her first day in the bank and JR’s cell phone rang.
“Hello, that girl, she has the suit case we have,” a person said.
JR was full of shock and called Mariel immediately.
He explained what happened: he got the suitcase of the robbers, and didn’t get Mariel’s suitcase because they looked the same, and now they need the suitcase back for unknown reasons, so they decided to trade it with the robbers in a far away ware house.
Mariel was scared and the man called JR many times in the cell phone warning them.
Days have passed, they went to the warehouse and heard someone talking.
“What if they find out what the suitcase contains? I’m sure they won’t bring it back,” a man said.
“Did you hear that Mariel? Who was that?” he whispered.
They hid in the corner full of boxes and waited five minutes. The robber came and that was the time they went to action.
“Here’s the suitcase, now bring us back her suitcase,” JR demanded.
“Wait, stop! Get that suitcase; we’re getting out of here!” Mariel shouted.
Mariel grabbed the suitcase but JR was taken by the robbers.
“Mariel, run! Don’t mind me!” he shouted.
She was full of shock and froze. She didn’t know what to do.
“Mariel, go!” he shouted loudly.
Her face was full of regret and she just ran away.
Silence occurred and she stood strong and decided to formulate a plan.
Her cell phone rang.
Mariel, Mariel….if you can hear me, listen, I’ve found out what the suitcase contains:
it contains explosives and bombs,, inside it… and-“ he stopped.
“Hello? JR, JR!” she stopped and cried down.
Am I really this useless, am I really this hopeless? I hate my life, and now I’m in the most complicated day of my life…
She hated herself so much. But stood strong and now began the plan
“I won’t let JR be sacrificed because of my actions. I’ll make sure I’ll get him back.”
“Find her, find the girl and make sure she doesn’t escape and tell the public what she discovered about us!” the robber said.
All of the fugitives went out and scattered.
She saw them all and left her shoes behind the tree.
“Guys, there she is!! Let’s go!” the other one shouted.
But they just saw shoes, and they were tricked.
She quickly went inside the warehouse and saw JR.
“JR!!” she shouted.
JR was beaten up with bruises, his eyes half opened and his hands tied in a chair.
“Don’t move Mariel, you’re just gonna get your self hurt if you save me…” JR said.
“Where’s the suitcase?” the robber asked.
“It’s here, but I’ll never give it to you!” she shouted.
“Listen… if I die… will you leave her alone?” he asked the robber.
The robber didn’t reply.
“What are you doing, JR!?!” she asked.
“I love you,” he said.
Mariel’s tears fell down and the robber spilled oil all around them.
“Get ready to die….because this will be your last!” the robber shouted.
He went out and started to throw a cigarette in the oil, it started to burn and the temperature was going higher and higher. The fire separated them both and Mariel didn’t see JR.
“JR!!” she shouted.
JR was feeling pain because of the intense heat and Mariel heard him.
“Mariel, here, have this jar, I won’t tell what’s inside, just keep it!” he said.
He threw the jar and Mariel had caught it.
“Now I can’t speak well-,“ he said.
“JR, don’t say that! You’ll live!” she shouted.
She ran through the fire and saw him in pain, she ran and hugged him.
“I’ll never leave you behind, I’ll be with you until your last breath..” she whispered.
Together, they shared the pain; the jar fell from their hands.
The suitcase was also burnt. And the robbers retreated.
The police saw the smoke and went their as fast as they can.
The extinguished the fire and saw two remains of people hugging each other.
They got them and they saw the jar, but, it wasn’t burnt at all.
They read what was inside it and saw…
Pieces of paper, with one word each on them, and when they arranged all papers, they formed:
“My time has come, goodbye. I’ll be guiding your future, and hope you continue a peaceful life without me. Be strong, because I believe in you. I love you.”
The police were touched by the papers. And suspected the two bone people owned the jar.

The Faultless Regret
by: a special friend. 'nuff said.. :|
Trina was just an innocent girl, she did nothing wrong and she had a wonderful life, outside, and inside school. She had many friends and always smiles. One day, she went to school and a very big announcement has arrived for all of them to hear.
“To all students, we are proud and honored to let you all know that this year, we’ll be having the election for the best student of the year. Since this school’s about to close after this year, we’d celebrate it by having an election to see which student gets the Best Student Award and will win a certain amount if privileges and prizes!” announced their principal.
Trina was a little bit saddened because she wanted to be awarded but surely she knew that others deserved it more then she does.
“I vote for Trina!” her friends told her.
“Me? Why me? Others deserve it more than I do..,” she quietly whispered.
“You do! Honestly! You’re smart, hard-working and beautiful! Who else can beat you?” her friends replied.
“I vote for you Trina!” a boy said.
“Oh Dwayne, hi!” she replied.
“You’re the perfect candidate,” he told her.
“And lastly, the final results will be posted two weeks, so stay tuned!” their principal told them all.
It was then lunch and people started falling in line to get their food.
“So, about the voting thing...” Dwayne said.
“Stop it, please, I don’t deserve it… although I need it to have enough money for my parents…” she replied
“Oh look! The box is there already there, I’ll probably vote now,” Dwayne told her with a smile.
She just sat down and hoped for luck.
Eleven days have passed and Arnold, a classmate of Trina, went to her and asked her if he could have her as his girlfriend. Arnold in his past life, liked Trina and did everything to impress her, but still, she didn’t respond to his actions and treated it like nothing ever happened. Arnold got disappointed and angry.
He knew that both she and Dwayne would soon like each other because they were close friends and they were always together. So he plotted a scheme.
“Trina, I’m sorry for my rude actions, please... come here, here’s a juice drink for you, I hope you’ll forgive me for all the wrong things I’ve done to you,” he told her.
“Ughhh… fine then, thank you,” she replied.
After an hour, she gave the juice to Dwayne, and he drank it because Trina didn’t want to drink something that was from Arnold.
After a day, Dwayne was absent from classes. But Trina didn’t notice.
It was then the awarding day of the winner for the best student award.
“We have now checked the results and came out to a very good decision. On this piece of paper lies the winner’s name who’ll receive a cash prize, small trophy, and a free trip to Paris for two weeks!” the principal said.
Everyone quivered with anticipation; drum rolls occurred…
“And the winner is…”
“Trina!!!!”
She was full of shock and gave a very humble smile, she was so happy. She tried finding Dwayne, but he wasn’t there and she felt confused… it was like she felt something was wrong.
She ran, but her trophy fell and broke on the floor, smashed to pieces. She asked everyone about what happened to Dwayne and found out where he was right now.
After, she went to the hospital where he was.
“Dwayne!!!” she exclaimed.
She slammed the door and saw him lying on the bed, with a pillow and blanket, sleeping.
“Trina? Is that you?” Dwayne asked.
“Why did this happen???” she asked.
He just smiled with his eyes closed.
“Probably lying to her would be the best way to make her understand that I’d be gone because of something else…”
“I ate something expired and it spread everywhere in my body, infecting my tissues and cells” he said to her
“How are you now? How are you feeling?” she asked.
“I’m fine, although I need some… sleep...” he told her quietly and slowly.
“I’ll stay here if you want. It’s Saturday... and I could stay until tomorrow... Oh yeah, I won the Best Student Award. I could give some portion of my prize money for your recovery,” she told him with her head looking at his closed eyes.
“Oh no... don’t… it’ll be useless to give money if a person would pass away this early…” he replied to her while smiling.
“What do you mean pass away?” she asked.
He coughed and coughed and he shouted because of too much pain in his chest and legs.
The door slammed and the doctors controlled him.
The nurses advised Trina to go out first.
It was about one hour when the nurses and doctors finally told her to go in.
“Trina…” he called.
“What’s happening?” she asked with her tears falling from her shining eyes.
“You can go now, but…. before you go, I’d just want you to know… that if I pass away right now….. I’d be the happiest person here on Earth… I’m with my most loved one right here in front of me,” he told her with his eyes closed, and his mouth broke into a faint smile.
“Stop it! You won’t die!” she shouted with anger and sadness.
“Listen, don’t think that my death’s your fault, it’s really my time to pass, and I know you’ll understand…” he told her.
Tears fell as his eyes closed.
“I’d probably be more comfortable telling her a lie than a truth with unlimited tears…”
“Trina, close your eyes…”
“What for?” she asked.
“Just trust me… I’ll count one to ten and when ten is done… open your eyes,” he said.
She did what he said.
“One… two… three… four… five…”
He stopped. “Trina... don’t peek.”
“…six, seven, eight, nine..”
And then there was silence…the air seemed to stop as tears fell down Trina’s cheeks.
He didn’t continue.
She opened her eyes and shouted.
“Why didn’t you say-…,“ she stopped talking.
She looked at her hand and saw a note.
She saw the paper and saw a number… 10
“10…” she whispered.
The curtains flew because of the wind.
Dwayne wasn’t breathing anymore, and his limp hand still held on to hers.
She tried to reach out the paper and saw something at the back.
“Sorry for the lie I’ve done… it’d be better to tell you an untruthful truth than a hurtful one…. it’d be hard to explain, but my point is….” she read while lying down on the ground.
She felt something in her other palm…another paper.
“…my point is… I love you…” she read.
She was shocked with sadness, cried, shouted and felt very weak. Her knees trembled and she didn’t know what to do.
“I... love you too...” she whispered to him in his ears while crying.

note::: haha. a freshman made that. *winks* and I edited only a few parts where commas and periods were missing. I think this work is real good for someone who's graduated fresh from elementary. This kinda reminded me of the stories I used to make when I was waaaayyy younger too. :P
